Next Gen

Improving lives through Action, Involvement and Collective Philanthropy

Who we are

Next Gen is a lively group of community members who care deeply about having the best local hospital for our family and friends.  We actively support Petaluma Valley Hospital as an important community asset and choose to give of our time and resources to enhance the quality of health care in our community.

Working together we are making a significant impact on the face of health care in Petaluma, and lets be honest—having fun while we’re at it.

Educational meetings

Sharing information and ideas is one of the top priority goals for Next Gen.  We offer sessions for our members that focus on a variety of relevant health care topics. Come learn and converse with our local experts including health care policy leaders, physicians, nurses, physical therapists and many others.

Mixers

Being able to spend time with people you enjoy is priceless.  Next Gen holds general mixers that provide the opportunity to gather for wine and appetizers and hear about what’s up at Petaluma Valley Hospital.  This fun time enables us to meet new friends or spend time with old friends.  We already have something in common…we care about health care in Petaluma.

100 Friends

100 Friends is a program of the Next Gen group that requires an annual membership donation of $100.  The money collected is placed in a restricted account and 100% of it stays here to benefit Petaluma Valley Hospital.  Employer matching funds may be used toward the annual membership donation.  This money is used to purchase essential medical equipment for the hospital.  Members of this group choose the funding recipients on an annual basis.

Annual events

Having fun, spending time with friends, and raising money for a good cause…who said you can’t do three things at once?  On an annual basis, Next Gen hosts a Bunco and Poker Tournament and a 5k Run For Your Life Twilight Run/Walk.  See our events page for more information.

Why we do it

We live here, we’re raising families here, we play and work here.  We love our family, friends and community and believe that access to superior care close to home plays a vital role in our health and happiness.

From a parent experiencing a heart attack to a child with a sports injury, Petaluma Valley Hospital has been here to support us and we want to respond by providing that same level of support to this valuable community asset.   We choose action, involvement and solutions.

We all know that we can accomplish more by working together—if we learn share and collaborate, we can make a difference for the health of our community.
