St. Joseph Health Prompt Care is now open.

We know illness or injury can happen at the most inconvenient times. The new St. Joseph Health Prompt Care in Napa Valley is located in the River Park Shopping Center and is open every day, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Instead of going to the emergency room, urgent care centers offer a more convenient, less expensive choice for situations that require immediate medical attention but are not life-threatening.

We offer the following urgent care services:

  • Minor broken bones
  • Sprains & sports injuries
  • Ear infections
  • Sinus infections
  • Sore throats
  • Colds & flu symptoms
  • Mild allergic reactions
  • Mild asthma
  • Fever or rash
  • Animal bites
  • Minor cuts & burns
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Minor work-related injuries

Urgent care centers charge about the same as or a little more than a health care provider’s office, but they may beonly half the cost of the hospital emergency department, with far less waiting time.

At St. Joseph Health Prompt Care in Napa, we offer convenient on-site laboratory testing and digital X-rays. If you need more care than we can provide, we’ll get you to an emergency department quickly.

Our Team Approach

St. Joseph Health Prompt Care is staffed with a team of caregivers including Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Medical Assistants and Radiology Technologists. There are four treatment rooms and an x-ray room, which offers portable digital x-rays that can be sent electronically to the Queen of the Valley’s radiologist who will work with the provider to develop an appropriate treatment plan.

"No Wait" Diagnostics

For your convenience, your primary care provider can refer you to Prompt Care for "no wait" blood draws and x-rays. Prompt Care’s outpatient lab draw station, will be open Monday through Friday. Hours of operation for the lab are: 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

We Accept Most Insurance Plans

We accept Medicare, Medi-Cal, most major insurance plans (HMO, POS and PPO) and cash-paying patients.

When to Use the ER

Don’t take chances with any condition that may be more serious or life-threatening. The ER is better equipped to care for you in the event of:

  • Heart attack
  • Stroke
  • Severe, sudden pain
  • Severe bleeding
  • Head injuries and other traumatic injuries
  • Loss of consciousness/passing out
  • Severe trouble breathing
  • Chest pain
  • Sudden eyesight problems
    (blurriness or loss of vision)
