About Frederick S. Bennett

Dr. Frederick S. Bennett is a board certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, with subspecialty interest and fellowship training in orthopaedic trauma. After graduating summa cum laude from Occidental College in Los Angeles for his bachelor’s degree, Dr. Bennett earned his medical degree from the UCLA School of Medicine, followed by internship and residency training at Los Angeles County-Harbor UCLA Medical Center. He was then invited for an additional year of fellowship training in the treatment of complex fractures at Cooper Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, in association with the University of Pennsylvania. He then established a private practice at the University of Tennessee’s Level 1 Trauma Center in Knoxville, where he spent four years before relocating to Santa Rosa to join the Orthopedic Trauma Team at SRO. He also continues in his longtime role as a major participant in Sonoma County’s regional trauma system. Dr. Bennett regularly manages complex musculoskeletal injuries including pelvic and hip socket fractures and complex multiple fractures of the upper and lower extremities. He also treats malunions, nonunions, deformities, arthritis and other painful conditions resulting from injuries, along with treatment for general orthopedic conditions such as arthritis, sport and work injuries, and nerve entrapment problems. A frequent presenter at medical conferences, Dr. Bennett has also published widely on orthopedic matters in professional journals, including Contemporary Orthopedics, the Journal of Orthopedic Trauma, and Techniques in Orthopaedics. Dr. Bennett appreciates what a serious undertaking surgery is for patients, and places special emphasis on recommending surgery only when it is clearly the best option. He always takes into consideration an individual’s lifestyle, activity, goals, family, and social and occupational commitments before making treatment recommendations.
