About Michael W. Grafe

Dr. Michael W. Grafe is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery with additional qualifications in Hand Surgery and several years of experience. He is an attending surgeon at Redwood Orthopedic Surgery Associates since 2005, and also holds appointments in the Orthopedic Trauma Panel and as a Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery Consultant at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Grafe received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the Boston University School of Medicine, as part of a combined program from which he graduated magna cum laude. He then completed residency training in Orthopedic Surgery at Stanford University Hospital and Clinics. To further advance his training, Dr. Grafe also completed fellowships in Orthopedic Sports Medicine at the Southern California Center for Sports Medicine and in Hand and Microsurgery at Columbia University.

Actively involved in the field of orthopedic surgery, Dr. Grafe has been published in numerous peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, posters and presentations, and is a reviewer for the Journal of Arthroscopy and Related Surgery. He is also a member of several professional organizations, including:
