***Top Doctors of 2018 Honoree by Sonoma Magazine***

Dr. Smith grew up in Oregon, and has a bachelor's degree from Oregon State University in secondary science education. He worked for 15 years in environmental and industrial chemistry prior to attending medical school at Oregon Health Sciences University. Although he never applied his bachelor's degree to teaching in the schools, he still enjoys the process of educating his patients on their medical conditions, and appropriate treatments options so they can be knowledgeable participants in their own health care. He chose family medicine because of its focus on people of all ages, and enjoys being able to see patients from multiple generations within a family.

When he's not caring for patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two grown children. He also enjoys outdoor activities (hiking, fishing, gardening, bicycling, snowboarding), and is excited to be living in an area with so many options for outdoor activities.

    very good
I had not been to see my doctor (provider) for three or four years. My appointment was for a physical and Dr. Smith seemed like we had talked last week. So the good news is that I have a good Doc and that I am healthy enough that I don't need to see him often. But if the need arises, he is my guy.
I was in need of an annual - however no blood work was prescribed I, being a senior, I think I should have been. This didn't occur to me during the exam, or I would have requested it - also, it was obvious to me that *Dr. Smith is on "overload" & I this might effect his ability to give full attention. I have great respect & trust for *Dr. Smith.
Dr. Smith is always responsive and alert to any questions I have, open and candid. I trust him and count on his good judgment.
    good experience
