    Pain Management Doctor Michael Yang, MD, Serving Santa Rosa, Sonoma and Petaluma, California Dr. Michael Yang grew up in Southern California and completed his undergraduate degree with Phi Beta Kappa and Psy Chi honors from The Johns Hopkins University with dual majors in Biology and Psychology. He then returned to the west coast where he conducted neurosurgery research at UCLA. He went on to attend UCSF, one of the top five medical schools in the nation, to complete his medical degree. Throughout his medical education, he continued to be interested in the connection between the physical body and the mind. This led him to graduate with honors in Psychology and Anesthesiology rotations.

    After medical school, Dr. Yang moved to New York City where he completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Cornell University. After residency, Dr. Yang completed ACGME‐accredited fellowship training in the field of Interventional Pain Management from a multidisciplinary approach, working in three of the top hospitals in the nation: Memorial Sloan‐Kettering Cancer Center, Hospital for Special Surgery and New York Presbyterian Hospital. From his fellowship and his experience in private practice in Santa Rosa, Dr. Yang treats patients with cancer pain, acute and chronic orthopedic injuries, and various chronic neck/back and nerve pains.

    In his free time, Dr. Yang enjoys fishing, tennis, hiking, travel and snowboarding.
